Job Overview
ACH Processors are responsible for all ACH Origination and ACH/Payroll back office activity.
Major Responsibilities
- Processes all incoming ACH Activity; reviews and maintains all ACH Debits and Credits for proper posting. Processes payroll reclamations and return notices of ACH debits
- Balances ACH totals to FRB daily; prepares general voucher incorporating entire payroll posting
- Maintains all share draft functions to include adjustments, stop payment requests, money market withdraws. Completes reports required for all functions accurately and by deadline given
- Processes incoming/outgoing Fed wires, bond, and tax deposits daily as available using dual control
- Provides accurate, timely, and friendly service to co-workers in the interest of quality member service. Ensures compliance to standards, policies, and procedures. Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership in new and different processes
- Reviews and recommends ACH/payroll policy and procedure revisions as needed
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Position Requirements
- Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
- A two year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
- Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and excellent math skills.
- Possess interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with members and employees both in person and by telephone.
- Ability to operate a typewriter, PC with related software programs and calculator with good speed and accuracy.
- Physical qualifications require being able to sit at a computer and other office related equipment for extended periods of time and to be able to lift and carry at least 25 pounds.
