Director of Information Technology
Oversees the operation of the IT department and ensures its alignment with the business objectives of the organization. Manages critical systems, networks and hardware while ensuring information security. Plans, coordinates, directs and designs all operational activities of the IT department, as well as provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations. Works closely with decision-makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. Ensures compliance to all industry and regulatory Computer Information Security standards and practices. The IT Director will manage the relationship with managed service providers and other technical vendors.
Requirements:
- Formulate and deploy long-term strategic plans for acquiring and enabling efficient and cost effective information processing and communication technologies. Where necessary, re-engineer applications support to ensure it aligns with business processes, tactical planning and strategic vision.
- Participate as a member of the senior management team in governance processes of the organization's architecture, telecommunications, networks, media and desktops. Develop and communicate business/technology alignment plans to executive team, staff, partners, customers and shareholders. Chair information Technology Committee.
- Manage IT department's strategic planning, including business requirements, project planning, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources. Manage IT staffing, including recruiting, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation and disciplinary actions.
- Define and communicate project milestones, service level agreements, and resource allocation to Board of Directors, President/CEO, department leads, support staff and end users. Also maintaining regular written and in-person communication regarding all pertinent IT activities.
- Develop and review budgets for and from IT department divisions and ensure they comply with stated goals, guidelines and objectives. Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analysis for IT spending and initiatives.
- Benchmark, analyze, provide reports for and make recommendations for the improvement of the IT infrastructure and IT systems. Authorize and oversee the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development and support of all hardware and software based on department needs.
- Direct research on potential technology solutions and implementations in support of new initiatives, opportunities and procurement efforts.
- Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing and service provision. Ensure equipment and software operation adheres to applicable laws and regulations.
- Oversee negotiation and administration of vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements. Oversee provision of end-user services, including technical support services.
