Summary of Functions:
Perform highly skilled, quality work, as it relates to general construction, repairs and maintenance of all Builders, Inc. property and equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Complete maintenance work orders/job tasks in a cost-efficient & timely manner.
- Complete job-related paperwork, giving a copy to the site manager, and returning one to supervisor.
- Determine actual work to be done, and material order for each assigned job.
- Reviewing cost with site manager as needed.
- Return job tickets/request to approving authority.
- Complete all work in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA, City of Wichita, and federal regulations. Keep job site/work area clean and in safe working condition.
- Report all injuries & potential accidents & conditions to supervisor.
- Maintain and track all company-owned equipment and materials and keep in safe working condition.
- Utilize proper procedures to prevent loss from theft and vandalism.
- Use appropriate measures to protect from inclement weather.
- Perform all job assignments by utilizing teamwork with other Builders, Inc. employees and outside contractors.
- Assist the site staff by helping to promote good public relations with residents/tenants.
- Inform the site staff as to problems & concerns relating to the condition of premises/tenant problems at job location.
- Take pride in all work completed & job accomplishments.
- Be able to work independently with high degree of reliability.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 100 lbs. necessary for installation and removal of construction items.
- Need to have good eye/hand coordination.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools to make repairs.
- Ability to walk, kneel, crouch, climb, crawl, etc. to reach items in need of repair, or to facilitate construction of same.
- Ability to drive to and from job sites. Tolerance to all extremes of hot and cold weather, as may be necessary.
Tools:
- Must be knowledgeable in the operation of all power tools related to the construction industry.
- Must possess, or be willing to obtain required minimum hand tools.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years in construction related industry, or commercial building maintenance.
Education:
- Must be able to read & write to complete work orders, and read directions.
Other Requirements:
- Need own truck/van vehicle to transport materials & equipment to and from job-site. Must show proof of liability insurance.
- Bondable and Valid Driver's License.
- Background check and drug screen required.
