The Part-time Minister of Worship will plan and lead worship in a biblical, unifying manner that advances the mission of Celebration Baptist Church (CBC). This person is responsible for selecting a blend of hymns, psalms, and contemporary worship songs for the purpose of exalting the Triune God and connecting people with Him in worship whether they are in person or online.
SPIRITUAL QUALIFICATIONS
- A committed Christ-follower, an active participant of a local church of like faith, and willing to become a member of CBC.
- Demonstrates a genuine love for God and people.
- Passionate about becoming more like Christ through the spiritual practices of Christ both personally and publicly.
- Possesses a passion for biblical, communal, and creative forms of worship. • Supports CBC’s beliefs, mission, and vision.
EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES
- Gifted to sing and lead others to worship God through music.
- Excellent knowledge and skills in music related to theory, conducting, and instrumentation. This includes the ability to read sheet music and chord charts.
- Confident and loving communication skills one-on-one and in large groups. • Knowledgeable about sound systems.
- Knowledge about video and lighting equipment is a plus.
- Passionate about improving the congregational worship experience according to Colossians 3:16-17 and Ephesians 5:18-21.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the lead pastor to create God-honoring, biblical, church-unifying, and engaging worship experiences for Sunday morning worship services as well as occasional special events.

- Embolden the congregational singing voice as though it is a choir that’s singing and making melody to the Lord from the heart.
- Engage with the congregation during the singing portion of the worship service, connecting Scripture with songs and songs with the congregation.
- Work with vocalists, musicians, and audio/visual team members to provide a high quality, collective, communal worship experience.
- Schedule vocalists, musicians, and audio/visual team members for rehearsals, worship services, and special events.
- Build relationships with church members, especially those involved in the worship ministry.
- Oversee the maintenance, care, and addition of music, musical instruments, lighting, sound, and all related equipment.
- Develop and manage the annual budget for the worship/music ministry. • Ensure compliance with copyright laws.
- Perform additional related tasks or functions which may be assigned by the lead pastor and/or his representative.
ANTICIPATED TIME COMMITMENT: APPROXIMATELY 10-15 HOURS/WEEK
