- Respond to calls pertaining to animal(s)-at-large incidences.
- Patrol various areas of the City as directed by the City Administrator and/or the Chief of Police. At times, such patrolling may be directed to specific areas to address animal(s)-at-large problems.
- Respond to dead animal calls, performing services to locate, gather and dispose of dead animals which may be found on or about the public Rights-Of-Way (ROW) of the City, including, but not limited to, streets, alleys, utility easements and storm water drainage easements.
- Enforce the ordinances of the City. In the exercise of such enforcement, open communication must be maintained with the City Attorney. The Animal Control Officer shall sign any complaints as directed by the City Attorney. The Animal Control Officer shall respond to Notice To Appear documentation in the judicial process of prosecuting those individuals, families, organizations and groups who are in violation of the City ordinances regarding animals addressed by any of the City ordinances.
