Emporia State University invites applicants for Advising Office Coordinator in the Department of Elementary Education/Early Childhood/Special Education, The Teachers College. The successful applicant will serve as the full-time, academic advisor to students in the elementary education program, helping them succeed in their academic program through graduation and state licensure. Duties include recruitment, admission and retention, maintaining a relationship with the Student Advising Center (SAC), Block Application process and orientation, academic requirements, monitor progress towards degree, academic policies and procedures, oversee and manage programming and student information at all on and off-campus sites, supervise student workers and serve as a liaison for Elementary Education on University Committees. Minimum qualifications: Requires a bachelors degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field, as well as at least one year of progressively responsible experience in advising, or a related function within higher education.Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
