POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is currently seeking a Simulation Technician Specialist to join our team of professionals.
Duties include:
- Provides overall support to the Albert and Debbie Tano Simulation Center, assisting with operational activities, set up and break down of sessions, preparation of materials, and session logistics. Responsible for communicating effectively with students, faculty and team members, and assisting in the planning, execution, and data collection of all simulation activities.
- Prepares documents, sets up equipment, and runs simulation scenarios, providing technical support for computer-based systems and simulation equipment while assisting in troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Plans, executes, and evaluates simulation scenarios for faculty and simulation facilitators, ensuring appropriate setup of facilities, equipment, manikin, and supplies, while providing training, support, and technical consulting for faculty and staff in simulation techniques and equipment usage.
- Organizes files, databases, and records, updates the simulation center calendar, and communicates with team members, students, faculty, and customers, handling inquiries and requests, including screening calls and simulation center requests under guidance.
- Provides technical support and maintenance for computer-based systems and their components, including AV systems, vital monitors, medical equipment, and simulation equipment as assigned.
- Assists with data entry including tracking sessions and inventory, data analysis and reporting of utilization metrics.
- Assists with maintenance and utilization of the EMS (Educational Management Solutions) system and its associated programs and hardware.
- Supports Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE)s and other simulation events such as tours, orientation, and simulation activities.
- Assists with set up and breakdowns of simulation activities. . Troubleshoots and maintenance of human patient simulators, task-trainers, and associated medical devices
- Communicates with and responds to team members, student, faculty, and customer inquiries, as needed. Screen calls and simulation center requests under the guidance of the Simulation Technology Coordinator.
- Assists in training, scheduling, and the tracking of Simulation Technicians.
- Performs essential duties in any emergencies such as hurricanes, public health emergencies, and/or any other university emergency closing. The employee is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification of a department administrator.
- Performs related duties as required or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED and six (6) years of office or related experience coordinating functions of an office or department.
