IT Support Tech Senior

Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (KLETC), a unit of KU Professional & Continuing Education, located near Hutchinson, Kansas seeks an IT Support Tech Senior.

Serves under the direction of the KLETC IT Manager for the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (KLETC) campus.  Established by the Kansas Legislature and administratively overseen by the University of Kansas, KLETC operates a geographically remote, 173-acre campus with fifteen (15) buildings including two multi-story residential student dormitories (117 dorm rooms), 12 miles southeast of Hutchinson, near Yoder KS.  KLETC serves as the central agency for all law enforcement training in the State of Kansas.
 
The IT Support Technician Senior position is a Tier II level staff resource. This person is responsible for troubleshooting customer technical issues and for providing solutions to the Tier I Technical Support Staff in an academic environment. The role of the IT Support Technician Senior is to ensure 95% of the technical issues are resolved within the KLETC Campus. Primary responsibility will be to manage workstations and classroom technology including audio/visual equipment in support of academic programs. The resource will prioritize support requests while documenting the needs and support provided, and actively resolve client requests by interpreting and troubleshooting complex issues. This position will require collaboration with IT management, Tier I staff, and Tier II staff on a daily basis and be responsible for the resolution of all IT issues in the absence of the IT Manager.
