Assistant Trainer
KS StateBank is looking for someone to join our Training and Education team as an Assistant Trainor working from our Westloop location in Manhattan. As an Assistant Trainer, you will be responsible for working with the Training Department to build the technical and sales abilities and culture that will
enable the KS StateBank team to achieve its objectives. This includes presenting specific training materials on operational (how-to) procedures, such as during orientation, the 30/60/90 day training, and other subsequent training as necessary. As such, the individual will need to establish and maintain a strong understanding of all bank products and services. This position may include travel to other branch locations and will require flexibility in scheduling. The Assistant Trainer will support the needs of the employee population at all branch sites to ensure consistent application of all retail, sales and service, and company policies, practices, and procedures. In order to be successful, the Assistant Trainer must thoroughly understand the operational aspects of KS StateBank, the strategic priorities of the training topics, and the importance of communication with both internal and external clients. You will work closely with the Training and Education Coordinator, Sales and Service Leader, Products Manager, and departmental managers in the completion of duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Give and seek feedback from the team and be receptive to internalizing suggestions and making corrections based upon information received; Refer feedback to appropriate individuals as the situation dictates
• Must be able to speak clearly and actively listen to clients (internal and external), either in person or while on the phone
• Strong ability to communicate with internal and external clients to establish and build quality relationships
• Participates in meetings to understand upcoming changes and concerns; Communicates appropriate information to team members.
• Know and follow the Retail Sales and Service Process and Plans; Work with Sales and Service to align training with Retail goals
• Identify product and services weaknesses; Inform Training and Sales and Service if training plans, curricula, classes, and schedules do not
integrate tightly with the Sales and Service Plan
• Assist with the development of annual departmental and individual goals and objectives; Ensure proper alignment with the organization’s overall
values and strategic objectives
• Presents materials, information, and concepts to individuals in groups in an interesting and engaging manner; Is prepared and provides a logical,
structured delivery; Facilitates discussion and manages the dynamics of diverse groups
• Familiar with adult learning techniques and adapts presentations to participant learning style; Incorporates direct examples to help learners grasp
concepts
• Capable of adapting course content and delivery based upon reception, the success of implementation, and changes in industry standards
• Possess a positive and encouraging teaching style; Possess patience and calm temperament when working with employees, especially those who
might have different skills and abilities
• Actively seeks constructive feedback from internal and external clients in regards to training effectiveness
• Displays an ongoing commitment to learning and self-improvement; Continually acquire knowledge and skills necessary to carry out the job in an
effective manner
• Continually evaluates training material and how it relates to accomplishing bank goals and objectives; focuses on best practices and incorporates
innovative approaches as relevant to KS StateBank processes
• Establishes and periodically updates training plans, evaluates learning and reports the progress of participants; Works to create, maintain, and
continuously train on KS StateBank procedures
• Requires travel to branch locations on an as-needed basis
• Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
• A high school diploma or GED
• A high school diploma or GED is is required
• Previous banking experience required; Training and experience in a retail financial institution preferred
TECHNICAL SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Has or is able to obtain knowledge and familiarity with the following software programs: Jack Henry; Vertex; Deluxe; DepositPro; NetTeller Back
Office; ESI Management; 4sight; FIS (ChexSystems); CTR E-Filing through FinCEN; and Microsoft Office Suite
• Future programs will also include Jack Henry Xperience
• Capable of attempting to troubleshoot technical issues before calling IT for assistance
• Will need to become familiar with presenting information in a variety of formats: via video; telephone; and in-person. Future tasks could also
include webinar presentations.
• Uses good judgment when sharing information and maintains confidentiality
• Able to assist with the fundamental implementation of retail platform (system) changes
