Schedule: Monday through Friday, 20 to 24 hours per week A morning schedule may be required during the training period.

KS StateBank, a successful, forward-thinking and rapidly growing full-service commercial bank, has a great opportunity available in our Human Resources department. We are currently looking for someone to join our team as a part-time Payroll and Benefits Specialist at our Kansas Farm Bureau office.

This part-time position is perfect for someone who is resourceful, detail oriented and can take initiative. As a Payroll and Benefits Specialist your responsibilities will include preparing and transmitting payroll for the Bank as well as maintaining and updating employee files. You will also perform new employee orientation and ensure all forms are current, complete and processed appropriately. You will be responsible for administering group benefits and providing exceptional service to your team members. The ideal candidate will have previous payroll, bookkeeping and accounting experience. You should have the ability to handle confidential matters responsibly and project a friendly and professional attitude.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare and maintain new employee documentation and required forms
  • Maintain portal and job postings to be coordinated with Marketing
  • Perform new employee orientation procedures and obtain required documentation
  • Prepare and maintain new employee documentation and required forms
  • Maintain permanent employee records
  • Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation
  • Process payroll on a timely and accurate basis
  • Administer group benefits records, reports and premium payments
  • Administer PTO, COBRA, workers compensation and other programs
  • Prepare reconciliations, backup withholding reports and general ledger entries
  • Respond to employee questions regarding payroll and benefits on a timely and accurate basis
  • Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Associates or undergraduate degree preferred
  • One to two years of previous payroll, bookkeeping or accounting experience required
  • ADP payroll processing and/or HR experience is a plus

TECHNICAL SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office software
  • Exceptional written communication, articulation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to accept and follow direction from multiple individuals
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness, initiative and teamwork
  • Must be dependable and able to handle matters of a confidential nature
  • Detail oriented
