McPherson College seeks dynamic and innovative candidates for the live-in position of Director of Residence Life and Housing.

This position is a live-in, 12-month position, beginning July 2021 in a residence halls.  This is a full-time position and does have a rotating on-call requirement. This position is eligible for college benefits and will report to the VP for Student Affairs.  


A successful candidate must be a student-centered and assessment-driven individual, who is focused on developing the academic and personal success of all students. The Director of Residence Life and Housing is charged with the responsibility of being the primary academic administrator for the residence halls as well as coordinating another area of student life, with examples including spiritual life and activities.  Duties will include but are not limited to the following: creating a positive and exciting residential living environment for undergraduate students and prioritizing the safety and health of those students, supervising resident assistants while maintaining compliance to the policies and practices of the college and student life, coordinating student programming including budgetary and financial oversight, and developing student leaders. The ideal candidate will exercise a high level of discretion and judgment in the day-to-day operation of the resident halls and its students.  Finally, the ideal candidate embraces diversity and possesses strong problem-solving skills. 



Bachelor’s degree is required (Education, Counseling, or Social Work preferred); Master’s preferred. Higher education experience preferred.



Salary based on qualifications. Remuneration includes a monthly salary, an unfurnished apartment, college benefits, full meal plan, cell-phone stipend, and in-room technology (internet and cable).
