Data Administrator

 

REPORTS TO: Associate Director and Database Administrator, Administrative Systems

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or technology-related field from an accredited university, experience in a team-oriented, collaborative environment; high self-motivation and attention to detail.

 

Experience preferred in the following:

  • MS SQL Server (SSMS, scripting, queries, SSIS, maintenance) or other related DBMS.
  • IIS, Apache, NGINX
  • PowerShell or other scripting languages
  • Jenzabar EX/ Jenzabar One or related higher education SIS providers
  • Active Directory basic user and group management
  • FTP/SFTP for ETL processes
  • Basic UNIX command line and file hierarchy knowledge

 

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

To implement solutions and troubleshoot functionality of University administrative systems including but not limited to Jenzabar EX/Jenzabar One, Jenzabar Internet Campus Solution (JICS), Jenzabar One Web, PowerFAIDS, Nelnet, Dayforce, campus CMS and other third party software as necessary. Implement and maintain administrative systems and initiatives.

 

DUTIES:

  • Provide expertise and technical knowledge about university applications or suite of applications.
  • Work to implement SQL server maintenance plans, backups and recovery strategies.
  • Collaborate on programming needs for data movement and process automation.
  • Develop and deliver end-user queries, extracting data from software applications to support the operation of the University. Automate system administration tasks and scripting.
  • Provide top tier support regarding issues with software applications and educate users on specific applications.
  • Identify common data and associated relationships, resolves data definition and ownership issues and ensures data integrity
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair computer application systems, including remote installations.
  • Strong ability to organize information, manage multiple tasks and use available tools to contribute effectively to the team and the organization.
  • Communicate solutions with solid oral and written communication skills to other university departments
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
