CMM Programmer

$35.00 - $40.00 per hour

We currently have an opening for an experienced CMM programmer. The CMM programmer will work with machinists, engineers and the quality team to determine part and fixture designs. They will focus on both DCC programming and CMM equipment related tasks, such as creating new CMM part programs and maintenance and/or modification of existing part programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Program Zeiss DCC CMMs using the latest Calypso software and VASST scanning probe, to tight tolerances utilizing GD&T and embedded model dimensioning

• Monitor and conform to design or test specifications

• Develop inspection plans

• First article inspection per AS9102

• Obtain and maintain all process certification required for all tasks

• Troubleshoot inspection problems related to fixtures, software, drawings, paperwork and/or process

• Prepare and maintain inspection records

• Oversee qualification of CMM programs (repeatability and accuracy)

• Support quality improvement and cost savings initiatives

• Provide guidance in the implementation and expansion of CMM technology

• Ensure safe practices are used in compliance with Primus safety standards and all governmental regulations

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS ABILITIES:

• Minimum of five years’ experience as a Quality Inspector

• 5+ years’ PC Dmis programming knowledge

• Must be an expert in CMM programming, both manual and DCC

• Strong, thorough knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)

• Solid print reading and mathematics

• Sound, strong computer skills

• Knowledge of Calypso a plus

• Two years’ Aerospace industry experience preferred
