Two (2) Network Design Validation Engineer positions available at Ulterius Technologies, LLC in Wichita, Kansas.
Primary responsibilities involve comprehensive vetting of the proprietary architecture, design, and technologies used in the company's products, as well as contributing to the improvement and/or enhancement thereof.
Work duties include, but are not limited to:
- Design and development of assessment criteria used in design validation and compliance based on technical, business, and industry requirements;
- Implementation of system- and component-level testing, data collection, and analysis of operation under various configuration scenarios;
- Determination of technological operating parameters, for both software and hardware aspects, for defined product offerings;
- Analysis of technical documentation, for internal and external use, in terms of technical accuracy and content appropriateness, and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system;
- Assisting in development of product support programs to be consistent with technological usage and maintenance concerns;
- Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements;
- Prepare reports or correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, or status;
- Consult with customers or other departments on project status, proposals, or technical issues, such as software system design or maintenance;
- Work with programmers, designers, technologists, technicians, or other engineering or scientific personnel;
- Consult with engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, develop specifications and performance requirements, or resolve customer problems;
- Train users to use new or modified equipment;
- Specify power supply requirements and configuration;
- Special technology- and industry-related research and investigative tasks assigned by the Chief Technology Officer;
- Use of native XML cross-thread management for deep packet inspection;
- Use of timing-dependent control- and data-plane packet offloading;
- Applying knowledge of independently-rotating private and public key encryption creation, testing, and validation;
- Use of CAPWAP, WLAN, Wireless, and RF management;
- Use of Layer 2 technologies such as RSTP, MST P, VLANS, VxLAN, PB-VLAN, GARP, MRP, and LA;
- Applying Layer 3 technologies such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, DHCP, RIP, RRD, NAT, DNS, and security technologies including ACL, Dot 1 x, Radius, and IPsec;
- Applying knowledge of Ixia testing and traffic generating tools, as well as Layer 4 through Layer 7 protocol testing tools, and SNMP;
- Use of firewalls (stateful and stateless) and VPNs, and applying knowledge of configuring and switches, routers, firewalls, and access points;
- Using knowledge of Information Assurance and Security, Routing and Switching, and Data Communications.
Minimum Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer networking (Higher degree in computer networking acceptable)
