Animal Services Specialist
The Wakulla County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Animal Services Specialist within the Board of County Commissioners.
This position is responsible for maintaining extraordinary care for all animals housed at Wakulla Animal Services while seizing all opportunities for humane education and providing customer service that embraces empathy, reassurance, reliability, responsiveness and looks-good/sounds-good character qualities.
Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Senior Animal Control Officer and the Director.
Qualified applicants must possess:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three years of experience in an Animal Control or animal welfare environment, public health, law enforcement or a related field such as humane society, veterinary office, or kennel
- Must have excellent communication skills to effectively and adequately deal with a very diversified clientele
- Must be flexible with working hours and have the ability to work weekends and holiday work.
