Position Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Students and the Director of Academic Wellbeing & Director of Care Support Services, the Assistant Director of Care Support Services (Systems Specialist) helps ensure we meet our mission to assist students in their efforts to reach their full personal and academic potential through advocacy and support. Responsibilities of the Assistant Director include but are not limited to:

  • Promptly reviews and triages incoming reports received in the university’s Care and Student Conduct reporting systems; in addition to managing an individual caseload of students.
  • Monitors management of staff-assigned cases and system access and reporting data.
  • Assists with various educational and departmental programs and initiatives in the areas of student success.
  • Develops and delivers student resources that offer strategies to develop a strong sense of academic well-being.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in Student Affairs, Counseling, or a related field, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated organizational and exceptional professional customer service skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication including interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining collaborative, effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with technical applications including Microsoft Office suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Social Work, Counseling, Student Affairs Administration, Higher Education, or a related field.
  • Experience with online tutoring platforms and developing online tutoring programs.
  • Experience obtaining external funding, including writing grants.
  • Experience working with student information databases or similar data analysis software.
  • Experience working within a university setting and experience supervising.

This position requires the ability to work occasional hours beyond the typical work week, including night and weekend work as needed to meet the business needs of the operation.

This position is required to participate in an on-call rotation.
